El Huervo - World's End download free

Here I find myself reviewing yet another fine El Huervo release. Thanks to my local record store, Jacknife Records and Tapes in Atwater Village Los Angeles, I have been able to purchase a number of Swedish Columbia releases. I'd also like to add that I just started ordering product directly from their official website and am astonished at how fast their service. Well, as for my review of the World's End cassette album it starts off quietly with "Shelter" and 4 minutes later you are bombarded with the loud and power "Rebel" track (around this time I find myself reaching over to slightly turn down the volume). It's a great track but I have to have a little consideration for my neighbors. This track is an amazing loud track that is relentless on the ears (in a good way!). "Fukurokouji" bring it down a bit and this is the El Huervo sound that I have now become familiar with. There is some nice guitar work throughout this track. "Dust" is another big loud number with heavy beats and distortion that fits right in with its big fat beats. "Fiver" is a very nice experimental number with some light beats. "Awake" is nice beautiful ambient track (complete with sounds of birds chirping and wonder) that builds up at the end where for some reason reminds me of the very beginning of "the Carnival is Over" by Dead Can Dance (a personal favorite). This is an epic track clocking in under just 9 minutes. "Hunger" has a very cool dub sound with more destruction. This track reminds me of the Orb's "Toxygene" yet they sound nothing alike. Just the groove in both tracks give me that warm fuzzy feeling. "Fabian" continues with the downtempo trip hop vibe that I often find myself using to describe El Huervo's music to friends and family. "Express" returns to the ambient tip with more sounds of rain (always makes me happy) and provides some beautiful melodies throughout. "Air" ends the adventure with it probably being the most experimental track on this release. It's a pleasant exit with a nice beat, light choral vocals, and piano sounds. I have a hunch in a couple of years time El Huervo will have found a bigger fan base and these early cassette releases are going to become highly sought after. Order them while they are still in print as they limited to very low numbers. Thank you, El Huervo, for the awesome music.
